| In
February of this year, the Warminster Rotary Club celebrated it's 44nd
anniversary. Founded in 1962, with the sponsorship of the Hatboro Rotary
Club, Warminster Rotary became a part of Rotary International. Our club
is made up of business and professional men and women from the greater
Warminster Area. We meet every Tuesday for lunch at Giuseppe's Restaurant
here in town, and sponsor numerous activities throughout the community.
As active members of an international organization, our club has participated
in many programs sponsored by Rotary International. Our members have sponsored
exchange students through the "Youth Exchange Program", sent a member to
Belize to construct a new medical facility for the residents, donated funds
to the "Rotary Foundation" and the "Polio Plus" eradication project and
assisted in many projects directed towards disaster relief both here and
abroad. Each year we attempt to remain both aware of, and involved in,
efforts to help people in need.
Our primary focus is to make a difference here in our community. Many of
our efforts are directed locally and most of our programs have been in
place for decades. Our "Scholarship Program" and "Handicapped Children's
Program" have generated hundreds of thousands of dollars in direct contributions
for worthy and needy recipients here in our area. Whether it's sponsoring
children at riding camps, purchasing wheel chairs, donating ambulances
to our local corps or outfitting our local police with portable breathe
testing equipment to help curb drunken driving, we are there and involved.
Assisting Christ Home, Meals on Wheels, BARC, Warminster Hospital, Warminster
Town Watch, the Ben Wilson Senior Center or just sponsoring young athletes
to a night out at a Phillies game (Strike out Hunger food collection efforts),
the Warminster Rotary is making things happen. Many local families and
organizations benefit from our service each year.
We are extremely proud of our accomplishments and even prouder of our members,
their families and the multitudes of people and groups who support our
efforts on an ongoing basis. Our goals are simple, to help make our community
a better place to live and work, while helping those who need it most.
Join us in our efforts, join our club, or join us in making people aware
that help is available.
Our site provides
current information on many of these activities, and our calendar of events
can provide you with specific fund raising and donation information. Thank
you for visiting with us, please stop back. |
